l can’t bake! Trust me, anything that involves flour or Rice Krispies is an epic fail. Rice Krispie bars are basically cereal, not sure how anyone can screw that up, but I do every time! Regardless, every once in a while I still give it a fighting chance.
This recipe is from an amazing woman who has a special place in my heart. Sadly, she left this world way too soon. She was a beautiful person inside and out and her kindness, grace, and patience is a legacy that will always be with me.
Seven Grain Bread
INGREDIENTS
1 Tablespoon yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
2 Tablespoons margarine
2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons honey or sugar (I prefer honey)
1/3 cup wheat bran or wheat germ (I prefer wheat bran)
1 cup seven grain cereal – divided
2 1/4 cups white flour
DIRECTIONS
Dissolve yeast in warm water
Add margarine, salt, sugar/honey, wheat bran/germ, 1/2 cup seven grain cereal and 1 cup white flour
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping the sides
Add 1/2 cup seven grain cereal and 1 1/4 cup flour
Blend with a spoon
Cover and let rise 30-40 minutes
Beat 25 strokes by hand
Spread into a greased bread pan
Smooth top with a floured hand
Cover and let rise 25-35 minutes
Bake @ 375 for 45 minutes
*If using honey bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until done
*If using 2 small loaf pans bake for 35 minutes

TIPS
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees while you are mixing the dough, turn it off and let the covered dough rise in the slightly warm oven
- This is great for grilled cheese – white cheddar, mozzarella and tomato soup
- Warm, is the best way to eat it
- Perfect for egg or chicken salad
