As you scroll through Instagram and Pinterest it’s hard not to get caught up in all the amazing products and decorating ideas. One of the reasons I started this blog was to create inspiration and help you do what you love. I am all about pretty and I admit….I maybe a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to how things look, but I am also passionate about creating a space that reflects who you are without dropping a ton of money in the process. You all know that I’m always on the lookout for fun, inexpensive ideas. Well, checkout this super cute DIY fabric garland I recently found at a Market. One of the vendors had a red and white fabric garland hanging in their booth, it was so cute! Everything about it was so bright and cheery, perfect for the holidays. It inspired me to give it shot and make one of our own.
Supply List:
1 1/2 yards each fabric of your choice (we used 3 colors, but you can use as many or as little as you want)
Jute String or yarn of your choice
Directions:
Fold each piece of fabric in half lengthwise
Measure and mark 2 inch strips across the entire length of fabric
Cut into each marked section
Unfold the fabric and rip each precut piece – you can cut each strip if you prefer a cleaner look
Fold each ripped/cut fabric strip in half and cut – giving you double the amount of strips
Now you’re ready to begin tying the garland
Secure your string – we tied each end of the string to a chair to make it easier to work
Tie each fabric piece onto the string in the pattern of your choice
You want the knots to look like neckties – tighten or loosen each to get the look you want
Keep adding and tying each pice until you run out of strips or reach your desired length
Step back and enjoy your masterpiece
The lighting here is not the best, but look at how cute this looks above the window.
Adorable! This is such an easy and inexpensive project. The best part – no sewing needed!
Make one for the holidays, use one on your mantel, decorate a bedroom or nursery, hang it on your porch or add a pop of color to your kitchen. There are so many ideas and it’s such a simple way to decorate for a fun look.
Twinkle lights make everything pretty! This room is so fun! Wreaths on the windows, a tree in the corner, a festive sign, Santa on the bed and she is all warm and cozy surrounded by holiday cheer.
Glad you stopped by. Thank you for visiting today and always.
