The weather is changing, there is a briskness in the air and it’s time to get cozy for Fall. I recently shared ideas and tips for mantel decorating [HERE]. Inspired, I decided to tackle the mantel in the basement and cozy it up for Fall.
My kids did 4-H for several years, mostly animals, but we also tried our luck with a few projects. I really enjoyed these, maybe more than they did! I loved looking for new ideas of things we, I mean she (ha!) could do. One of my favorite projects is this deer head. This is not something you see very often, which is why I love it! It could have something to do with the wood slices. I think I may have an addiction.
This became my inspiration for a fun one of a kind cozy Fall mantel.
I dug deep into my stash and found these cute metal deer.
Greenery, branches or stems are great to add pops of color, texture and movement in any space. With no green thumb, these knock offs are my go to’s!
These pots are awesome! The distressed worn look that gives them such great character. They look like they have been around for a long time.
My other addition is books. You will find these all over my house. I love the stories they represent. It’s not the titles or what the book is about, but the stories behind the people who had them, where they got them, and the handwritten names or notes inside of them. These stories fascinate me, I can’t resist.
This is truly a cozy one of a kind fall mantel that pays tribute to all the fun projects and good times with Lucky Livestock!
Go dig deep and find your one of a kind pieces….kids artwork, special gifts, or one of your favorite treasures and show them off! These are the kind of things that make you feel good, represent a story or memory, and make your space feel warm and cozy.
I hope this inspires you with ideas of how you can create a unique cozy space in your home.
