As I scroll through images of organized pantry’s they both inspire and annoy me. I am envious of how pretty they are with everything perfectly organized filled with fully stocked baskets and bins looking all pretty. For one, who has that much food in their pantry? Seriously?! Two, how do they keep them so organized? Does anyone live there?! Ha! I dream of someday having a butler’s pantry masterfully organized and as stunning as these amazing scroll stoppers. So you can be both inspired and annoyed along with me, I am sharing some of my favorite Butler Pantry Inspiration and a few tips to help you organize.
Design Element: Doors
Well, by now you all know I have a thing for doors, so of course I couldn’t resist this beauty. The wood doors contrasted against the white, with the gold hardware, and open shelves make this a drool worthy pantry. Even the light fixture ties this room together, love it! Details can make all the difference!
Design Element: Lighting
Love, love, love a chandelier in the pantry! The white cabinets combined with the brass fixtures and chandelier make this room feel bougie. When choosing light fixtures opt for styles that make a statement, tie in with the other textures and colors in the space, and are functional. Make it fun, classy, and timeless. I am a big fan of lighting and just because this room isn’t main stage front and center doesn’t mean you should skimp on lighting for it.
Design Element: Storage Containers
The key to an organized butlers pantry boils down to everything having a place and a place for everything. The secret…..storage containers. Baskets, bags, bins, and jars not only keep things organized, they add an extra element of detail to compliment the space, aka make it look pretty. Use a variety of different containers to give the room texture and depth.
While I love the look of jars, especially jars with wooden lids, I am not sure I would ever use what’s in them. They just don’t look as pretty when they are only half full. A bit OCD, yes! Ha!
Design Element: Windows
When it comes to windows and natural light you can never go wrong. There is something about a bright space that makes it feel clean and open. Windows in a panty, drooling!
Organization Tips:
As you keep dreaming and drooling over these gems, there is no reason you can’t work with what you already have. You don’t need a fancy butler’s pantry like these to be organized. When thinking about how to organize your current pantry or space follow these simple tips.
Start with Plan: Think through your game plan. Determine what you want and the space you have to work with before you start. Measure (height, width, depth) before you shop. Think through jars, baskets, bins, etc., that will fit in the space and where you’re going to place them.
Clear the Space: Empty out the space and sort through any expired or unwanted items. Think about what food you want in each container and if there are small appliances, cookbooks, dishes, etc., that you want to display versus stash. Now that you’ve narrowed it down you can decide how you want to set it up, keeping frequently used items accessible.
Add Labels: So for those of you who love organizing with labels you’re going to want to check out these beauties on Etsy. Not only are they oil and water resistant, there are several different options you can choose from, including customizing your own.
While I have hopes of someday having a butler’s pantry to stash all my clutter, the idea of it being “organized and fully stocked” may be an unrealistic dream. Regardless, of my inability to keep a butler’s pantry as inspirational as these, I love exploring the possibilities. I mean, seriously, how can you resist organized beauty?
Thanks for spending time designing and dreaming with me, friends.
