I love porches! They are another place to decorate and a good excuse to shop for….who really needs an excuse, right? I want my porch to catch your eye in a way that makes you want to drive around the block to get another look. It should feel inviting, a place you definitely want to visit and entice you to want to see what the inside looks like. It is just as much fun to decorate outside as inside so why not bring your personality outside, too.
For the porch, I typically look for AMAZING finds at thrift stores or yard sales. If it doesn’t cost much I don’t feel as guilty about it taking a beating in the glory of the unpredictable weather outside. When I saw this bench I obsessed over it for weeks, trying to justify the price for it to be outside. I am sure I spent hours searching for a similar, cheaper version with no luck (this one was not even expensive to begin with). I finally caved! There was a sale, I had a coupon and I got an additional savings with my card – totally justified! I love the way it looks!
My other favorite piece is this great Hello sign! I love absolutely love it! It looks awesome with the bench.
Flowers make a porch so bright and cheery! The pop of color they bring is so gorgeous. Because this chick doesn’t have a green thumb I tend to go for the heartier plants – things that aren’t as easy to kill. I love the texture and look of ferns! These are my fav! I stumbled across these gems on sale early in the season. So beautiful!
The planters were a find at one of the local greenhouse/landscaping store. Not on a sale, but totally worth the indulgence!
Check out the cool wreath on the bottom of my door! A lady in the store with one in her hand and I knew I had to have it – sold! It’s perfect, just what I was searching for to hang on the bottom of the door. Looks great and it was a steal!
I had a coupon that made it 40% off – gotta love it! My heart was full! The rug, also on sale! It’s a great compliment to the planters and bench. Don’t you agree?
I bought the green door when we lived in Nebraska and it survived the trek to Wisconsin. The chalkboard was a thrift store find. It was originally a felt board – so easy to transform for a cool look. The lantern took a beating in our move, but you can hardly notice.
It’s so much fun to make the outside as inviting as the inside of your house! I love changing it out with the seasons and using natural elements to accent.
